First sea trials for the Hanse 460

Hanse 460 first sea trials

Ahead of her world premiere at the Salón Nautico in Barcelona, the Hanse development team had the opportunity to take her out into the Baltic sea earlier this month to get some initial testing carried out.

In a fresh breeze of between 12 and 22 knots they put the new 460 through her paces achieving a top speed of 12 knots.  Hanse models have always been known for their solidity and boat speed and the new 460 followed well in these footsteps.

Hanse product manager Andreas Unger reported that the 460 fully met their expectations and proved very agile under sail.  She remained very controllable even with full sail in the strong, dense Autumn Baltic winds.  The large cockpit also remained dry even without a sprayhood in relatively big seas.

The first Hanse 460 arrives in the UK toward the end of 2021 and we look forward to extended testing in and around the Solent.
