Yacht Dealers from all over the world were invited to the annual Hanse Dealer Conference at Greifswald in Germany last month. Following the announcement of several new projects and new models for 2012 the weekend ended with the presentation of the annual dealer awards in various categories. This year the top prize of the Best Performance Overall went to Inspiration Marine Group Ltd, the Hanse distributor for England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

We have now had the chance to take the new 385 out for a few test sails with prospective purchasers, which means it is now time to report on their findings.

We have now handed over 3 of the stunning new Hanse 495 and after several maiden voyages and professional delivery trips it is time for a report.

After 9 times out in the new Hanse 445 I got the chance to see how the latest Judel Vrolijk designed Hanse stands up to lots of wind!

Finally we got to test sail the new Hanse 445 and are very happy to report that it sails fantastically as you would expect from a Hanse.

We are very happy to report that as usual the latest Hanse range has been fantastically well received at the latest Southampton Boat Show, which has just closed.

Hanse find themselves at the top of the results table again thanks to Andy Hind.

This year has seen a record number of UK based Hanse Yachts sailing to the other side of the world.

Congratulations go to Andy Hind and White Mischief as they come second in class and 10th overall in the 2010 JP MOrgan Round the Island Race.

Despite low attendance in the early part of the week we can proudly report considerable success at this years show.

After the success of a number of Hanse models on the world regatta scene, especially the Hanse 370. It is now the 430, which is taking the limelight.

Aquasmart a Hanse 370e took part in the Scottish 3 Peaks race starting at Oban on Friday the 16th of May via Salon, Jura, Arran to finish at Troon a total of 196 sea miles with Benmore, The Paps of Jura and Goatfell being run by Mike Whitford and Colwyn Jones, leaving the sailing for Clive Davis, Gordon McGeorge and Andrew Forgie.

A total of 9 Hanse Yachts have entered and completed this years Atlantic Rally for Cruisers.

The July 2006 issue of the UK's biggest selling yachting magazine - Practical Boat Owner - carries a fascinating article that explains very simply the pros and cons of epoxy construction for sailing cruisers. Less technical than previous publications, the three page article features on the practical advantages of the material and explains why this material has moved from being the province of the racing boat into a real and viable alternative for the cruising sailor.
